Now that we have hit the year 2020 we wanted to let you know of an issue we've come across concerning dates in legal documents which is particular to the year 2020.

This has been widely reported on social media and the articles raise a very good point, especially in a world where scamming/fraud is ever increasing.

When you date or include a date in any document this year, you should consider including the full “2020” in the date. Don't use the shortened “'20” (i.e. 13 Jan 20). Using the shortened 20 gives scammers/fraudsters the opportunity of adding other numbers on to create a different year (e.g. 20 to 2019 or 2018).

So, we would encourage you to use the full year 2020, in dates this year!
