The Law Society of Scotland, in collaboration with Master Policy lead insurers RSA and brokers Lockton, has launched the 2022 Innovation Cup, looking for the best new risk management idea from the Scottish solicitors’ profession.

Scottish solicitors, paralegals, trainees, cashroom staff and Law Society of Scotland student associates can submit their ideas for a risk management product, tool or strategy. The winning entry will be developed by Lockton and made available to the whole profession, as well as earning a cash prize of £1,500, provided by insurers RSA.

Ideas should be intended to improve risk management in private practice firms, but can be large or small changes, and can be to the internal systems, processes or controls within firms or to the way that firms interact with clients or other parties.

Previous winners have included an examination of title checklist, a client communications questionnaire, a ‘notice to quit’ calculator for commercial leases and a risk management tracker tool, and they can all be found on the Resource Centre pages of this site.

The closing date for entries is midnight on Friday 22nd July 2022. More information on the competition and how to enter can be found on the Society’s website: https://www.lawscot.org.uk/news-and-events/law-society-news/innovation-cup-launch-2022/.
